Sony teasing When World’s Collide

Sony has updated both its Facebook and Twitter accounts, with the image below and text that reads, “When World's Collide.” Much speculation and guessing has taken place in the hours since its release, but what do you guys think?

Some have pointed to a similar looking image in the PS3 exclusive, God of War III, suggesting that perhaps this could be a mention of the developer's – SCE – next game outside of the series. Others have suggested it could be another game entirely.

However, my favourite idea comes from Facebook user Björn Koop, who said that the image is of a hybrid lunar eclipse, of which there will be one this year, on 3rd November. He postulates, that this could be the release date for the PS4.

The calendar savvy among you may point out that this is a Sunday and is unlikely to be the launch day of a new console, but it could be Sunday night/Monday morning.

KitGuru Says: What do you guys think the image means? Let us know below or on the Facebook page. My first thought was that it reminded me of the Third Place adverts. Those always creeped me out as a kid.

KitGuru Games: The Best Console is the One in Your Pocket

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. Despite its controversial nature, the technology will be the only way in which all games are preserved for the future – free from licensing agreements and other such nonsense. Better still is the fact that in a majority of cases, emulation allows for a more accurate recreation of the game’s original experience than official offerings, due to countless complex shaders, filters and tweakable settings. And the best part? Thanks to the progression of technology, your humble smartphone is able to do all this and more – giving you the power of 10,000 games in the palm of your hand.
