Ralph R Debbas founded W Motors in Beirut back in July 2012. His goal with Sarl El Kahalil was to make the world's most expensive car.
The company have announced their Lykan Hypersport model which was showcased at the 2013 Qatar Motor Show. W Motors claim they will only release a handful of the cars, which they are saying is the ‘first Arabian hypercar'. They are in fact only making 7, with each priced at a cool $3.4 million.
W Motors are based in Dubai and they are showing performance figures which are in the same category as the staggering Bugatti Veyron Super Sports. The rear wheel drive car has a twin turbocharged flat six engine which can produce 750 horsepower. Rated performance figures are 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds and it can hit a top speed of 245 mph.
The LED headlights feature white gold surrounds encrusted with diamonds. The buyers are also able to choose from emeralds, rubies or sapphires throughout the car, depending on their colour choice. We wonder what Jeremy Clarkson would think of that.
Inside the car, the high tech gadgetry continues. The leather is ‘gold stitched' and features a ‘Virtual Holographic Display' which acts as the instrument panel.
The shape of the car is intentional. it is styled around the Arabic symbol for ‘seven' which is ‘V' – also considered a very lucky number in the country.
Each of the seven cars is numbered with a plate embedded into the roof above the rear window showing the details, along with the delivery date.
The company throw in a $200,000 Cyrus Klepcy watch and a 24/7 concierge service.
Kitguru says: Excessive? Just a little we think.
As you have mentioned Jeremy Clarkson in this article then the one million quids question is…. will it show up in this season (or next season if it’s still in the shed)? 😀
