LG Announces G2 Smartphone

LG has officially announced its new flagship smartphone, the G2. The flagship device will run Android 4.2.2 at launch.

The South Korean company's flagship device will feature a 5.2″ 1080P screen that provides over 400 pixels-per-inch (PPI) and an IPS panel. Hardware powering the device includes Qualcomm's 2.26GHz, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and internal storage capacities of 16 or 32 gigabytes.

A 13 Megapixel rear-facing camera utilises what LG is calling “breakthrough optical image stabilization” technology that permits for better shots in shaky and low-light environments. A 2.1 MP front-facing camera is also found on the G2. The device is powered by a 3000mAh SiO+ battery.

At just 9.1mm-thick and with an almost-bezel-less design, LG has optimised the G2 for one-handed use. LG moves the handset's operational keys to the rear side, giving users single-handed control of functions such as volume adjustment and quick access to applications.

KitGuru Games: The Best Console is the One in Your Pocket

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. Despite its controversial nature, the technology will be the only way in which all games are preserved for the future – free from licensing agreements and other such nonsense. Better still is the fact that in a majority of cases, emulation allows for a more accurate recreation of the game’s original experience than official offerings, due to countless complex shaders, filters and tweakable settings. And the best part? Thanks to the progression of technology, your humble smartphone is able to do all this and more – giving you the power of 10,000 games in the palm of your hand.
