Mozilla to launch Metro friendly Firefox December 10th

Mozilla released the notes from their latest Firefox planning meeting showing that they plan on releasing a version of Firefox for Windows 8's ‘Metro' user interface system.

The preview release will officially arrive as part of the companies Firefox 26 release on December 10th. If you want it earlier, then you can get the Aurora version of Firefox on September 16th, this is when Mozilla will merge Firefox Metro into the Aurora 6 variant of Firefox. Just be prepared to deal with some potentially nasty bugs as this is an early test environment.

The Aurora features will hit the Beta channel on October 28th, which will prove a better way to play with the new features as this is a more stable channel for builds.

Mozilla have struggled to keep pace with Google's Chrome browser as they have had a Metro friendly version of the software since last June.
