Lenovo release all new T431s UltraBook

Lenovo's ThinkPad range has been updated after an 18 month period of planning. They have just showcased the new ThinkPad T431s Ultrabook. The design is still very much a ‘ThinkPad' design, but they have slimmed it down and changed areas.

Lenovo have ditched the physical track pad click buttons and the company are keen to point out that they have been working with Synaptics for 2 years to produce the perfect trackpad drivers. The company have also reduced the thickness of the screen bezel, making it the thinnest they have ever produced.

The panel runs at a native resolution of 1600×900 pixels and Lenovo have opted for a matte display finish to reduce reflections. It is measured at 250 nits brightness. Processors options from a Core i5 3337U to Core i7 are offered and the entry level model has 4GB of memory, a 320GB 5,400 rpm hard drive and a choice of Windows 7 or 8. Thankfully they allow a solid state drive to be fitted at the factory, at extra cost. Memory is upgradeable to 12GB.

Lenovo also offer the machine with an optional backlit keyboard.

The T431s has a VGA connector, 3.5 mm headphone/microphone combination port, two USB 3.0 ports, a 4 in 1 card reader, a 47 WHr three cell battery, BlueTooth 4.0, WWAN and Wi-Fi capabilities.
