According to industry insiders I spoke with last night close to manufacturing, it would appear that Samsung will be in a position to release their new electronic watch before Apple.
There have been many rumours of Apple releasing their upcoming ‘iWatch', a device that they reckon will sell very well, especially for those people who regularly use the iPhone. The device will be able to connect to the iPhone and display important data, such as mapping and caller ID. The latest news would suggest that Apple have a skilled team of 100 people developing the iWatch including some key designers responsible for other leading products.
Apple's biggest problem right now is the lack of ground breaking products coming to release this year. They will have an incremental update to both iPhone and iPad released in 2013, but Samsung have stolen their thunder with the launch of the Galaxy S IV smartphone with cutting edge technology.
Many analysts felt that with the passing of Steve Jobs, it would be difficult for the company to keep growing as they had been under the visionaries control. Apple have recently posted their slowest sales growth in more than two years with experts saying the current 17 percent growth will drop to below 10 percent by 2017.
As we reported yesterday Lee Young Hee, Samsung's executive vice president of mobile business said “We've been preparing the watch product for so long. We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them.”
Samsung expect their new watch will claim a huge amount of sales, with special ‘linked' features included for users of Android tablet's and smartphones.
Samsung have already showcased their stunning new HD panel technology, cramming 1280×720 pixels into their bendable display.
Kitguru says: The year of the watch is coming.
