240GB OCZ Agility 3 drops under £110

When KitGuru Labs put the 240GB OCZ Agility 3 under our powerful performance microscope in 2011, we were left surprised that such performance was possible in a drive that cost less than £400. Today's latest offer from eBuyer takes OCZ's hugely impressive drive and makes it affordable for everyone. KitGuru picks up a pair of tweezers and eyes the piggy bank.

In life, it's nice to be able to use quotes.

When you're able to quote yourself, it's even better.

Given eBuyer's price move on the 240GB OCZ Agility 3, we're drawn to the conclusion we made in May 2011:-

The main bonus with the Agility 3 drives will be the price point… Coming in at under £380 inc vat when they hit retail in the UK“.

Things move on in IT.

Sometimes we need to take a step back and appreciate just how far/fast this market continues to develop.

New technology, coming later this year, will mean that even larger drives will follow. Once issues of long-term stability have also been put to rest, we can see a massive move in data centres to a faster/more reliable technology that draws a fraction of the power.

For now, the chance for a 240GB KitGuru Must Have SSD for less than £110 is an attractive proposition.

Serious capacity with a 525/500MB/sec performance classification
Serious capacity with a 525/500MB/sec performance classification. For 110 squids? Not bad.

KitGuru says: If you own a laptop with a cruddy 5,400 rpm spinning disk, then this kind of upgrade is a must. If you're contemplating building a new rig, then surely pairing a 240GB SSD with a pair of 2/3/4TB data drives is the perfect set up?
