Microsoft's Entertainment Rewards voting procedure has been blighted after it was revealed that the information of everyone that had voted in order to become eligible for a prize draw, was freely available to anyone that knew a few simple steps.
According to MCV, one of its readers sent over a list of names, email addresses, gamer tags, emails and birthdays, all of which was linked to the Microsoft Entertainment Rewards voting system. Microsoft hasn't commented directly, but has said that it is: “currently experiencing technical difficulties with the Xbox Entertainment Awards landing page and have taken the site offline while we investigate.”
Apparently there were almost 3,000 names on the list. If you think your name might be on it and you have login information elsewhere that relies on any of the potentially revealed information, it might not be a bad idea to change that elsewhere to be secure.
KitGuru Says: If we get an update on this later today, I'll make sure to do the same with this story.
