Uwe Boll: Just give me some money and we do Postal 2

Ah Uwe Boll, the game adapting “filmmaker,” and German tax law loophole exploiter is back! And this time he doesn't want to turn a beloved video game franchise into an unwatchable mess to the calibre of Starship Troopers 2, he wants to make Postal 2, with the help of you guys! That's right, you can give him money and he'll make Postal 2. Good deal… right?

“But Jon, we didn't even know there was a Postal 1?” I know, neither did I. Apparently back in 2007, when he wasn't making Bloodrayne or doing pre-production on a sequel to one of the worst movie adaptations ever, Alone in the Dark, Uwe Boll made Postal, one of his better reviewed movies with a 4/10 rating on IMDB. And now he wants to make a sequel.

Why wouldn't you give money to a man with a “best manager” award?

“POSTAL 2 will finally destroy the filmindustry (sic) and the world we are living in,” reads the film's Kickstarter page. “We could name the movie also HONEY BOOBOO must die ….but so many people deserve to die. Why starting with a child (sic)? Did Osama die? We know. And why the Navy Seals were too stupid to land a helicopter on a free field? Why did Building 6 collapse? We explain. Why is Obama is (sic) like Bush? We show you.”

It's difficult to tell from the pitch whether this is something Uwe Boll believes to any extent, or this is simply some big, tongue-in-cheek, way to see if people would ever give money for this kind of thing.

While Boll has set the campaign to run for two months, in a few days he's only managed to rake in $4,000 of the $500,000 goal, so it looks unlikely to meet its goal. Kicktraq agrees.

KitGuru Says: While Boll might have his detractors, a few people have shown some interest. There's 77 backers so far and some very positive (though not sure if sarcastic) comments, so maybe this does have a chance? What do you guys think?
