Apple will be releasing a television set later this year, according to an analyst. The price will be between $1,500 and $2,500.
In a research note Wednesday, Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets says the iTV set will be 60 inches. Apple should also be releasing 50 inch and 55 inch versions. Apple should also be releasing a small ‘iRing' that fits on the viewers finger, allowing the user to control the screen by pointing.
The set will come with tablet like ‘mini iTVs' with 9.7 inch screens, the same size as the full size iPad. White added that the iTV will be able to send video to smaller screens wirelessly around the house.
He says his report has been made after visiting various Chinese and Taiwanese companies who supply Apple with components.
While Apple won't comment on future product releases, Steve Jobs did speak about remaking the television set in his book with Walter Isaacson. He said Apple had found a way of doing it. This caused a lot of speculation and rumor reports in 2012, but nothing has yet been released.
