Thermaltake Urban S41 lands in tough £100 market

We had a good look over the initial documentation for the Thermaltake Urban S41 in an earlier story, but two vital ingredients were missing. We now have that info and we're prepared to share: How much and where?

Before we spillz the beanz, where's a question for you: What price should you pay for a chassis?

It's a good question and one that our readers spend and awfully long time considering.

At the high-end, you have Cooler Master's excellent Cosmos II battling it out with a more ‘style over substance' product like the Level 10, as well as the monstrous Silverstone's TJ11 and the faultless Lian-Li PC-X200FN.

The mid-range has been a real battle ground in recent times – especially following the unloading of Corsair's full range of quality products – including the Graphite series. They match up against more recent efforts from Fractal Design.

The low end is full of joy these days.

There was a time, maybe 10 years ago, where the plastic-coated steel chassis ruled in this area. Now, it seems, the Far East factories are paying much more attention to Western tastes. Cooler Master's amazing 430 has 5 front bays, the option for water-cooling, 100% black internals and comes in at around £38 in the UK ($65 or €42). Hard to ignore.

So which market will Thermaltake be attacking?

Well, news in to KitGuru indicates that the Thermaltake Urban S41 will be around the £100 mark in UK stores – with samples due to arrive shortly. That means it will be up against:-

KitGuru says: Very tough market – but the Urban S41 does have an integrated external drive bay on its side. Looks like the proof of Thermaltake's pudding will be in the Labs' eating.
