Ubisoft Uplay hacked, leaked Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon in wild

Ubisoft's hyped Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon spin off, has found its way into the wild on torrent sites and through the official Uplay service, after Ubisoft's servers were hacked, opening up free game downloads to those responsible.

Some are pointing the finger at the Russians for this one, with the hack using a specific command to trick Uplay into thinking that a person had purchased a title while in-fact they hadn't. On top of that though, the exploit actually made it possible for the hackers to play the games offline, circumventing Uplay's online service altogether – and arguably making for a better experience than that offered by the online only platform.

Footage of the 80's inspired Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon has appeared online but Ubisoft keeps taking it down, no matter how many times new people upload it.

Speaking with Ubisoft, GameInformer got the following statement: “We are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it quickly. No personal information was compromised. Uplay's PC download service will be unavailable until the problem is fixed, however all other Uplay services remain available.”

Blood Dragon will be officially released on 1st May, for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Kitguru Says: Reading up on Blood Dragon, I'm quite impressed how different it sounds. 80's theme, check, Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) check, and tron like visuals? It's certainly a change up for the FPS genre.
