Remember BC? Someone is finally making it

After Black and White 2, but before Project Ego that eventually became the Fable franchise, Peter Molyneux worked on a game called BC. This was back in the early 2000s and I couldn't have been more excited about it. You were a caveman hunter, trying to survive and help your tribe in a world populated by dinosaurs. Unfortunately despite some very pretty (for the time) early visuals and an amazing concept, the game never made it out of the starting blocks. Now though, one man is making this game, though it's called something a little different: Stomping Land.

Alex Fundora is the man behind this new project and it looks like everything you'd ever want in a game. You're a hunter taking on the world of dinosaurs. Just got yourself a difficult kill with a bow and arrow? Good for you, now a T-Rex is stealing it. If you want to take down that iconic predator, you'll need friends, which is where the game's co-op and multiplayer elements come in.

Graphics are a little ropey at the moment, but just imagine the possibilities.

According to the Kickstarter video, there will be cooperative play, allowing you to work together with your buddies to build a tribe and take down some of the larger dinosaurs, and competitive PvP with rival tribes going against each other in visceral stone-age combat. Since this is a survival sim as much as a game about hunting dinosaurs, think of it as DayZ, but with somewhat bigger dangers to worry about than zombies.

The video on the funding page shows off the ability to build too. You can craft traps and materials, buildings and shelters. There's a lot of scope here for something amazing.

The public seem to have noticed this too, as in just under 24 hours it met its $30,000 (how reasonable is that?) funding goal and looks set to breeze past it. According to Kicktraq, it's likely to surpass $300,000 by the end of its run, easily enough to hit all stretch goals.

KitGuru Says: I'm just bummed it's not set for release until March next year.
