Twitter launching music app today

Twitter's not-so-secret music app is set to launch today according to some, following on from several unplanned leaks by random people give early access. The app works by suggesting tracks and artists to users based on several factors, including who they follow.

The social blogging network has tried to keep the app under wraps, but there have been several instances where people have let slip about its existence. Ryan Seacrest tweeted about it yesterday and now, AllthingsD is citing a handful of sources that are claiming today is the day when it'll land.

The app also has the ability to use third party programs like iTunes to expand functionality. Soundcloud can also be integrated, as well as the ability to watch music videos through Vevo – you know, the one that censors every single song it gets its hands on.

Twitter has not made an official announcement or commented on these new rumours, but it seems likely from their number and certainty, that we'll see the app sometime later today.
