Corsair Builder Series Modular CX600M PSU Review

Rating: 9.0.

If you have a very limited budget but need a reliable power supply for a new system build then you may feel you are walking into a serious minefield of choices. Thankfully there is no need anymore to just blindly accept a cheap ‘no name' oriental power supply. Corsair have had great success with their affordable system builder range of supplies and today we look at their latest modular unit.

The latest Corsair System Builder power supply is semi (hybrid) modular and ships with 80 Plus Bronze certification. Corsair are known to work with a handful of reputable companies to create their power supplies however they are keen to point out that this unit has received more than just a Corsair sticker on the chassis. We will look at this in more detail later in the review when we open it up.

  1. What a price. looks great.

  2. I have one of the non modular ones and its been great now for 18 months, never a problem. im using a HD7950.

  3. Cant buy one here. out of stock. must be a big seller. I have had a thermaltake PSU for years now but its been a disaster for me due to the fan failing and the replacement blowing up !

  4. I was going to order one of these last week and couldn’t find any reviews. thanks! ordering it now.

  5. been wondering about this one for a while now. good info. still trying to get one of their TX650 units, they are £75 now. which is a great deal.

  6. I bought one too a CX600 non modular about 4-5 weeks ago, It really surprised me for a non modular design the cables were nice and long and went nicely behind my motherboard, I was able to place them out of the way of my fan’s airflow. I replace a Rocketfish RF500WPS2 with this unit, And I notice a big difference in performance, My GPU now gets the correct amps and voltage. Also I like 3 year warranty, And Corsair is the best when it comes to warranty, If one of their products causes your hardware to fail. They will replace your hardware or give you the cash to get new hardware.

These are nice units but try to get the newest model, The older versions are solid units, But some did have issues, The latest version does not have those issues, The newest version will say CX Series instead of CX Builder Series, So look for that.

  7. I like to share knowledge that I have built up through the calendar
year to help improve group efficiency.
