MSI launches GS40 Phantom series Gaming Notebooks

MSI is well-known for its gaming laptops and today it is revealing its brand new GS40 Phantom series of notebooks, based on Intel's latest generation Skylake processors and Nvidia's Maxwell-based graphics chips all packed in to a powerful 14-inch form factor, bringing you a truly capable gaming experience on the go. The jump to the Core i7 6700HQ processor provides a 20 per cent performance boost over the previous Core i7 4720HQ, while also being 50 per cent faster than other U-series Core i7 chips.

It packs a decent punch in the graphics department as well, with the GTX 970m, which delivers pretty solid performance at 1080p, as shown by some of our previous gaming notebook reviews.

The best part is, as you can see from the image above- we already have one. We are currently in the process of making an exclusive preview of the GS40 Phantom soon, ahead of the full review, which will come a bit later.

The GS40 Phantom comes with Windows 10 installed by default, it also comes equipped with a PCI-E Gen3 SSD capable of pushing speeds of up to 2200MB/s, up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2133 MHz, and an ESS Sabre HiFi Audio DAC for superior sound quality. Overall, it is shaping up to be a bit of a beast. Stay tuned for our preview coming soon, which will go in to more detail on the laptop itself.
