PNY Prevail Pro Mobile Workstation Review (Nvidia Quadro P4000)

The PNY Prevail Pro is an impressive mobile workstation. You get a decent amount of CPU power, capable professional graphics, desktop levels of storage, and a great UHD screen all in a package small and light enough to carry around with you.

Although the secondary bulk data storage is noticeably behind the desktop alternative in throughput, the main SSD is just as quick, so your everyday experience of booting up and loading huge content creation apps will be just as seamless. The healthy 32GB of 2,400MHz memory will mean you can run the same RAM-intensive software as a tower workstation.

The wealth of cutting-edge USB and video ports will mean you can attach peripherals and monitors in abundance.

However, the mediocre battery life is a real shame when the Prevail Pro ticks every other box for a truly portable mobile workstation. Another hour away from the mains would have made this the perfect professional 3D content creation companion. It's still a great mobile workstation, but you will have to remember to bring the PSU with you on the road, just in case.

KitGuru says: The PNY Prevail Pro provides great performance and desktop levels of storage in a mobile workstation package, but battery life isn't as great as we had hoped.
