PNY Prevail Pro Mobile Workstation Review (Nvidia Quadro P4000)

We tested the PNY Prevail Pro with Power Mode turned down to Best Battery Life and a 50 per cent screen brightness, using the PC Mark 8 Create battery test, which runs a series of productivity tasks until the power runs out. These test scripts stress the graphics performance a little, although not specifically professional 3D. It's supposed to represent a mixture of everyday creative tasks.

We were somewhat disappointed with the results in this test. With PNY claiming 300 minutes, to achieve only a third of that is a real shame when this notebook is so capable of being a truly portable workstation in every other respect.

The PC Mark 8 Creative tasks are quite intensive, and if you're just doing some email, Web browsing and office work, you're likely to get more like 3-4 hours out of the battery. But if you're doing 3D content creation you will get 2-3 hours tops, and 3D rendering would drop this to under two hours.
