Over 2 million people have reserved a OnePlus 2

Last week, OnePlus announced its new ‘flagship killer' device, the OnePlus 2. The new smartphone will only be obtainable via invite, just like its predecessor for the time being and it seems that quite a lot of people were eager to get on the list as over two million people have signed up for the invite program this week.

The milestone was revealed by the company over on Twitter. At the time of writing, 2,651,926 have signed up for the reservation list, with the two million mark being crossed just six hours ago.

Now two million doesn't sound like a huge number compared to the figures Apple generates with its iPhones, but OnePlus has certainly made quite the name for itself over the last year or two, the company is still pretty new to the market but has already managed to obtain some pretty loyal customers and generate quite a bit of hype.

The OnePlus 2 will start shipping out to the first buyers this month, though it will take some time for the company to make its way down the invite reservation list. The phone features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 13 megapixel camera packed in to a metal body all for £239.99/$329.99, which is cheap for a device of this calibre.

KitGuru Games: The Best Console is the One in Your Pocket

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. Despite its controversial nature, the technology will be the only way in which all games are preserved for the future – free from licensing agreements and other such nonsense. Better still is the fact that in a majority of cases, emulation allows for a more accurate recreation of the game’s original experience than official offerings, due to countless complex shaders, filters and tweakable settings. And the best part? Thanks to the progression of technology, your humble smartphone is able to do all this and more – giving you the power of 10,000 games in the palm of your hand.
