New leak points to more OnePlus 2 specs

The OnePlus 2 is due to be announced at the end of this month with a live streamed conference set to be broadcast in virtual reality for those who have a Google Cardboard headset. We were already expecting a Snapdragon 810 processor and USB Type-C support but now a new leak has given us even more detail about the phone's spec sheet.

A new leak from the site, Mobipicker, claims that the OnePlus 2 will make use of a 5.5 Inch display, although it will be sticking with 1080p rather than bumping things up to 1440p, which is a smart choice. Apparently there will be a 16 megapixel camera on the back and a 5MP variant on the front, 64GB of storage and a beefy 3,300 mAh battery.

Aside from that, we are still expecting the Snapdragon 810 processor to be powering the device along with 3GB of RAM, possibly 4GB. This will worry some as the Snapdragon 810 has suffered from heat issues in many devices since its launch but hopefully these have been ironed out by now.

Aside from that, we know that there will be a price tag under $450 USD, although we don't know how that will translate to other territories just yet. Now all that's left to do is wait until the 27th of July to know for sure.

KitGuru Says: There will be many people eyeing up the OnePlus 2, especially since the OnePlus One became so popular. It will be interesting to see if the new model is as well received as the first.

  1. Got 1+1 in October for €300 (€325 w/shipping to PL). If they’ll force me to pay €400 for almost the same I’ll definitely get Mi5+.

  2. No snapdragon 810 for me. I’ll wait for Snapdragon 820. I don’t want an SoC which isn’t 1416nm finfet.

  3. You should think about doing some research on the new revised version of the 810. Supposedly it’s runs just as cool as their previous chips, also the OP2 features some kind of new way to cool the hardware down, I can’t remember the exact specs for it.

  4. 5.5 inch is too big for me.
