We measure from a distance of around 1 meter from the laptop to mirror a real world situation. Ambient noise in the room measures close to the limits of our sound meter at 28dBa.
Why do this? Well this means we can eliminate secondary noise pollution in the test room and concentrate on only the video card. It also brings us slightly closer to industry standards, such as DIN 45635.

The MSI GS73 6RF ‘Stealth Pro' is a low noise laptop most of the time. Even when gaming we only noticed a little fan noise from the sides of the chassis. It helps that you can adjust and tweak the fan settings within the MSI Dragon Software, so if you want lower temperatures you can compensate by adjusting the sliders.
Still think the Auros X7 DT v6 with its 1440p 120hz g-sync screen, a 1080, and being under an inch (25.4mm) thick is the best laptop on the market
