Rise of the Tomb Raider is a third-person action-adventure game that features similar gameplay found in 2013’s Tomb Raider. Players control Lara Croft through various environments, battling enemies, and completing puzzle platforming sections, while using improvised weapons and gadgets in order to progress through the story. It uses a Direct X 12 capable engine.
We test at 1080p and 1440p with the ‘very high' preset. At Ultra HD 4k we reduce the preset to ‘high'.
At 1080p the hardware is well up to the task, generating solid 60+ frame rates. At 1440p the performance drops a little, although we would still class it as playable. At Ultra HD 4k, even though we reduced the image quality settings, the frame rates are unplayable.
Still think the Auros X7 DT v6 with its 1440p 120hz g-sync screen, a 1080, and being under an inch (25.4mm) thick is the best laptop on the market
