The MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K 2QE ships with two 256GB SSD's configured in Raid 0 and a 1TB 7,200 rpm Storage drive.
The mechanical drive performs as well as we would expect – considering the 2.5 inch limitations. The Raid 0 SSD's deliver great results, peaking at 860MB/s in the sequential read test.
We enabled 0x00 – compressible mode on the Raid 0 SSD, to see how it would affect performance. As we can see performance increased to almost 1GB/s sequential read, and around 920 MB/s sequential write. Superb results.
We verified results in the Atto DiskBenchmark. The Raid 0 SSD's peaked at around 1GB/s read/write and the mechanical 1TB storage drive around 130MB/s in both read and write sequential tests.
Real world performance would mirror these synthetic results. The MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K 2QE boots very quickly and overall system response is close to immediate under most circumstances.
where can i buy this????(plz respond)
Damn my MSI GS60 2PE for running at 90*C at full load and the WiFi card being awful!
Hi, thanks for the thorough review! Will you be testing the GS70 (Stealth Pro) with the 970M as well anytime soon?
Gret review, and good laptop, though to be honest, in my opinion a gaming laptop benefits very little from an SSD RAID configuration and the 3k screen. Those two things are adding a lot to the cost of the laptop and giving little value in return versus an alternative configuration with single SSD and FullHD.
Windows 8 is the problem not the wifi card.
