MSI GS60 2PE Ghost Pro 15.6 inch Laptop Review

The MSI GS60 2PE Ghost Pro ships with Solid State Drives configured in RAID 0 for ultimate performance. There is also a 1TB Mechanical drive installed.

The Raid 0 SSD configuration works extremely well, hitting 962 MB/s and 799MB/s in the sequential read and write tests, respectively. The mechanical drive is much slower, however for a 7,200 rpm 2.5 inch drive these results are about as good as we would expect – peaking between 130-140 MB/s.

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

The SSD Raid 0 configuration hits around 1000 MB/s in the read test, and the mechanical hard drive hits a limit around 136 MB/s.
