Alienware add Core i7 to netbooks

Alienware parent company Dell are about to unleash a new range of netbooks which will incorporate Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors. While this sounds like a rather unusual move it is certainly going to cause a stir with many tech sites who have always complained that the Intel Atom CPU is just not fast enough to take seriously.

As would be expected with Alienware machines we would guess these won't be pocket change and clearly they want to be seen as Netbook leaders if they are cramming in such high end components. We will be interested to see how they keep down temperatures and sustain battery life without having a block the size of a cars radiator hanging out the back.

KitGuru says: Finally no one can say that their Netbook is ‘just' good for email and surfing the web.

ANyway, core i7 in a netbook? I know apple have them in their high end range, but a netbook? seems totally overkill. waste of time.
