Sandybridge notebooks should drop in price by 20%, soon

If you are in the market for a new laptop, you may want to hold fire on a purchase…. well for another month or so anyway. The channel in Taiwan are expecting to see a drop of 20% on current models, as Intel prepare to release the new Ivy Bridge range of processors.

With a new range about to be released, the current range of hardware becomes less enticing to many people, forcing price drops. Companies need to clear inventory and the best way to do this is to offer the older (current) models for bargain deals.

The price changes could hit retail as soon as the end of March, in around 4-5 weeks time.

Kitguru says: We advise people in the market for a new laptop to keep their credit card in their wallet. For a few more weeks anyway.
