MSI WS63 7RK Mobile Workstation (Nvidia Quadro P3000 6GB)

Rating: 8.5.

Mobile workstations are usually only mobile in the sense that you can move them from desk to desk more easily than a full tower. They are not generally systems you would want to carry around with you all day. But the MSI WS63 7RK bucks this trend. It’s under 2cm thick and under 2kg in weight. Yet inside is a quad-core processor, professional NVIDIA Quadro graphics, and two storage devices.

The processor in question is an Intel Core i7-7700HQ. This is from the Kaby Lake generation, but is the lowest-specified mobile quad-core from the range. The CPU is backed by 16GB of DDR4 SDRAM. The NVIDIA Quadro graphics is the very latest Pascal-generation P3000, with 6GB of GDDR5 memory, so should give desktop professional 3D accelerators a run for their money. With a 15.6in Full HD IPS panel on board, there’s plenty of potential for serious 3D work.

Storage includes a 256GB Toshiba M.2 NVMe solid state disk for operating system and apps, plus a 1TB HGST Travelstar Z5K1000 5,400rpm conventional hard disk offering plenty of capacity. So this really is like a mini workstation you can carry around with you. Let’s find out how closely it compares to a workstation you wouldn’t be able to fit in a bag.

Tryx Luca L70 Case Review – needs a lot more work

The Tryx Luca L70 had some negative press at launch but is it really that bad?

  1. I love that laptop is super slim and very light. I already have one. The only “bad spot” is the cpu that in heavy workloads is throttling and if your job needs a lot of rendering (like video, 3d max) that cpu is far behind in performance than the desktop version.

Now I am thinking to buy a portable computer chassis with a 17″ screen that you can fit desktop parts and still be very portable. Is the only way to have 8 cores or more cpu power in a portable form factor.

Real workstation performance in any aspect (CPU &GPU) without desktop parts is like a joke some times.

  2. Managing director of Google!, is explaining to users to start off “Work at home” method, that People have been doing for about one year now. These days alone, I generated close to $36,000 until now with no more than my home computer as well as some spare time, despite that i have a fulltime 9 to 5 job. Even everyone not used to this, can make $89/per h easily and the earnings can go even higher over time… This is how i started

Is this just a “pro” version of the GS63VR?

  4. Is the display pentile (not real 4K), or is it actually a real 4K display? Also, what about Adobe RGB color accuracy?

This would be my main concerns towards deciding on buying this machine
