rumoured iPod update coming next week

Brazilian news site MacMagazine are claiming that the annual refresh of the iPod lineup is coming sooner than expected between August 14th and August 16th.

MacMagazine claim to have insider information from Apple sources saying that the new line up is due for release very soon. For the last four years Apple have been known to hold press events early September with releases anytime between March and October.

The next generation iPod is set to have gyroscope features, retina display and a front and rear facing camera system to allow for the companies new focus on FaceTime video chat. All of these have been made available in this years iPhone as well.
