O2 offers refund to customers following service outage

As a lot of our readers will already be aware, some of O2's customers suffered service outages last week due to an apparent ‘network failure'.  This was a massive source of frustration for many people who's phones were unable to register on the network, despite their phones showing signal.

O2 has announced via their blog that they know which customers were affected by the service outages and will refund pay monthly customers 10% of the cost of their service plan which is the equivalent of three days.  This will be deducted from their September bill.  Pay as you go customers will be given 10% extra free credit on their first top-up in September.

These credits will be applied automatically so none of the customers affected will go without.  O2 are also issuing each affected customer with a £10 O2 voucher to spend in store between the 1st and 30th of September which can be redeemed online or via the O2 Priority Moments app.

KitGuru Games: The Best Console is the One in Your Pocket

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. Despite its controversial nature, the technology will be the only way in which all games are preserved for the future – free from licensing agreements and other such nonsense. Better still is the fact that in a majority of cases, emulation allows for a more accurate recreation of the game’s original experience than official offerings, due to countless complex shaders, filters and tweakable settings. And the best part? Thanks to the progression of technology, your humble smartphone is able to do all this and more – giving you the power of 10,000 games in the palm of your hand.
