Samsung target iPhone 4s for sales ban

The battle between Apple and Samsung still rages and this time Samsung are trying to halt sales of the iPhone 4s in Australia and Japan. Samsung are claiming infringements in user interface and technology patents in Japan and wireless communications standards in Australia.

To make matters worse, Samsung are also filing in the Japanese courts to stop the sale of Apple's iPhone 4 and iPad 2 products. James Chung, a spokesman at Samsung told the Wall Street Journal “We are now counterattacking Apple again.”

Samsung are fighting back after Apple won a temporary injunction against the Galaxy 10.1 Tablet in Australia – blocking sales of the unit. Samsung also failed to persuade the Dutch court to block sales of Apple products in the Netherlands, claiming an infringement of mobile network technology patents.

Samsung are also attempting to block sales of the iPhone 4S in France and Italy after sales started last week.

Kitguru says: We don't know how this is going to end up, but so far Samsung aren't having much luck.

KitGuru Games: The Best Console is the One in Your Pocket

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. Despite its controversial nature, the technology will be the only way in which all games are preserved for the future – free from licensing agreements and other such nonsense. Better still is the fact that in a majority of cases, emulation allows for a more accurate recreation of the game’s original experience than official offerings, due to countless complex shaders, filters and tweakable settings. And the best part? Thanks to the progression of technology, your humble smartphone is able to do all this and more – giving you the power of 10,000 games in the palm of your hand.
