Sony Xperia Tablet S pulled from sale due to water resistance issue

Over the weekend, Sony has decided to pull its latest Android tablet, the Xperia Tablet S from sale in Japan and elsewhere. Originally launched last month with claims of splash-proof operation a manufacturing defect has been found where there is a gap between the display and the body.

It is unknown if the issue affects only a percentage of tablets or most of them. Regardless, existing owners of the Xperia Tablet S are granted free inspections and repairs, if necessary. For now, Sony is advises owners not to test the device's splash proof claims for themselves.

KitGuru says: In a competitive Android tablet market this is bound to not make Sony very happy.
