Samsung officially takes the cover off the Galaxy Note 10.1

After endless leaks in recent weeks Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 10.1. Just like the 5.3 inch Note smartphone a S Pen is included for all of your stylus requirements. It will also find itself at home in a slot in the bottom right of the tablet.

Other specifications include a 10.1 inch 1280 x800 display, a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor (we're assuming that it is the same Exynos 4412 chipset found in the Galaxy S III) and 2 GB of RAM. Internal storage options range from 16 to 64 GB with room for more with a MicroSD slot supporting cards up to 64 GB in size.

The backside of the Note 10.1 is where a 5 MP camera with a LED flash is found, while on the front is a 1.9 MP sensor that also supports Smart Stay. A IR LED will be present so it appears as if Samsung's latest tablet will be able to double as a universal remote control. [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbgBxr4H59A']

Software wise Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and TouchWiz is present with some neat multitasking features. These can be best explained by watching the above video.

The tablet is 8.9mm thick and weighs in at roughly 600 grams with a spacious 7000 mAh battery. There will be Wi-Fi only and 3G models availabile “globally” later this month. If you are wanting an LTE enabled tablet you will have to wait a little bit longer.

KitGuru says: The Galaxy Note 10.1 is undoubtedly a unique tablet.

  1. It sounded so nice but for android tabs, we are entering full HD times, and the 1280×800 screen just killed it for me
