HTC CEO optimistic about the year ahead

HTC took the fast track to smartphone fame in 2010 but spent much of 2012 going nowhere. While we were relatively impressed by the One X flagship Android smartphone and its Windows Phone 8 devices are impressive, HTC went on to release many handsets for no apparent reason – an act they vowed not to do in early 2012.

Now CEO and co-founder Peter Chou has told reporters that he expects this year will be better for the Taiwanese phone manufacturer and “the worst for HTC has probably passed”. Chou went on to say that a possible reason for lack of success in 2012 was down to insufficient marketing and this will be a focus for the coming year.

After it was revealed the HTC Butterfly was not coming to European markets it has become apparent that HTC has another flagship Android in mind for local markets. As long as HTC revives some of its past form and does not rush to put out as many devices as possible 2013 will be a bright one.

KitGuru says: The talk is done with now HTC, it's time to put those words into actions and results.

KitGuru Games: The Best Console is the One in Your Pocket

Emulation is the saving grace of the video games industry. Despite its controversial nature, the technology will be the only way in which all games are preserved for the future – free from licensing agreements and other such nonsense. Better still is the fact that in a majority of cases, emulation allows for a more accurate recreation of the game’s original experience than official offerings, due to countless complex shaders, filters and tweakable settings. And the best part? Thanks to the progression of technology, your humble smartphone is able to do all this and more – giving you the power of 10,000 games in the palm of your hand.
