Arrandale MacBook Air to be launched soon ?

KitGuru spoke to an industry insider a few hours ago who told us that the new Arrandale MacBook Air could be released within the next month. As followers of Apple will already know the new updated MacBook Air has yet to hit the market, even though the rest of Apple's range has received the ‘Arrandale makeover'. This is more than likely due to the fact that the Macbook Air will require new small package versions of the processors for the slender, diminutive chassis.

A new product number has appeared in Apple's inventory system with code “MC516LL/A K87 BETTER BTR-USA” which are apparently on route to Australia within the next week. This ‘better' moniker signifies a mid range configuration as Apple internally give the machines a “good”, “better” and “best” referral.

MacWorld Australia however have stated that the model number might actually refer to a 27″ LED screen within the Cinema range of monitors. Whether Intel have released a range of small outline Arrandale processors to Apple for release this early is open to speculation. We do however know from previous experiences that Apple have received stocks of Intel processors before any other manufacturer, so it is a possibility.

Kitguru says : Right now it is anyone's guess, but the next few weeks will be interesting.
