iPhone 4S tells kid to ‘shut the f**k up’

Apple's Siri personal assistant has been the talking point of many discussions in recent months, but the latest news which was reported in the UK might turn a few heads. Apparently a demo version of the phone bombarded a kid with foul language in a local store.

The 12 year old kid was testing the new iPhone 4S in Tesco and asked it ‘How many people are there in the world?'. Siri replied with ‘Shut the f*** up, you ugly tw**'.

Wash that circuitry out with soap, we say!

United Kingdom newspaper The Sun have an exclusive story on this over here and apparently the mother of the child is rather shocked and annoyed with the reply. Of course, the option of getting some money from a UK newspaper by selling the story never popped into her head.

Siri: not quite as rude in this scenario

She told The Sun “The phone was a demo version and was low enough on the shelf for Charlie to have a go with it. He asked it a simple question and we couldn't believe the filth it came out with.

“I thought I must be hearing things. So we asked again and the same four-letter stuff blared out.

“I asked for the manager and after staff heard it they agreed to unplug it.”

It would appear that staff at the Coventry Tesco store said the phone had been tampered with and that this should never happen. Tesco said they have launched an investigation and the handset will be going back to Apple for some diagnostic tests.

Kitguru says: Siri is clearly not hack proof.

  1. Nothing im sure his mother hasnt told him already. I love the feigned horror from some parents.

  2. If Tesco/Apple/The Sun clubbed together and bought her an iPhone 4s – would she refuse on the grounds that it could be hacked to insult her? Wethinks not 🙂
