Apple to grow larger than HP and IBM, say experts

George Colony of research group Forrester claims that Apple are going to be growing over the next few years to a point when they will surpass both IBM and HP.

“They’ll be bigger than IBM next year, and they’ll be bigger than HP the year after that,” he said. He also predicted that Apple will earn $200 billion in revenues and post sales growth exceeding 50 percent through the next two years. Demand for the iPad and other Apple hardware will fuel the expansion.

His predictions aren't all good however as he says that with Steve Jobs out of the picture, their future could be dark. “Remember, every two years, they have to fill that store with new stuff … without Steve Jobs as the CEO, I think it will be much harder for them to do that.”

Apple face stiff competition however from Google Android powered devices, and the new Honeycomb version is showing to be very popular indeed. The business tablet market could also adopt the upcoming Blackberry Playbook tablet, a 7 inch device running a proprietary operating system.

KitGuru says: Research firm IDC expect Apple to maintain their huge tablet market share of 70 percent in 2011, founded by strong initial sales for the iPad 2.
