Rumours are rife right now that Apple are planning an event in San Francisco on September 7th, two weeks ahead of the new prime time TV season.

Apple normally hold an event in San Francisco around this time, but the date this year has yet to be nailed. We have confirmation from various sources that it will be on the 7th. Apple normally send out invitations to the press a week before the proposed day.

Apple are remaining tight lipped about the exact date still with an Apple representative telling the press that “We don't comment on rumors and speculation.” Ah come on, you are no fun.

The event is meant to feature a new $99 reworked version of Apple TV with new iPods, including a new iPod Touch with a retina display and front facing camera with FaceTime calling options.

KitGuru says: KitGuru will be covering the event this year.
