Prince of Persia The Lost Crown was an unfortunately underrated recent release from Ubisoft, with the side-scrolling metroidvania seeing a ton of praise from critics and fans alike following its release last year. Though the game failed to meet Ubisoft’s expectations, it seems to be getting a second chance at life with The Lost Crown announced to be coming to both iOS and Android soon.
Making the surprise announcement, Ubisoft officially revealed that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is set to come to smartphones on the 14th of April, writing:
“Adapted to mobile by Ubisoft Da Nang, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will run at 60 FPS on recent generations of mobile devices. The game can be played either with an external controller or touch screen controls, with the ability to fully remap controls available for both options.”
The port brings with it some additional quality-of-life improvements to help with controls, including “auto-potion, auto-parry, and slow time options, as well as a host of other quality-of-life features.”
In the past few years we have seen an influx of console games brought over to mobile. From the likes of Stardew Valley; to Dredge; Death Stranding; Resident Evil; Slay the Spire; Balatro; Little Nightmares; Wreckfest and so much more, it seems like developers/publishers are finally acknowledging the potential of current-day smartphones and their power.
Hopefully Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown proves to be a success on mobile. No price has been provided, but the game will be free-to-start with an additional fee to unlock the full game.
