Death Stranding and future Kojima games coming to Mac

Apple’s annual WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) has concluded, and alongside the official announcement of iOS17, new Macbooks and the company’s long-awaited AR/VR headset, Hideo Kojima made an appearance to reveal that Kojima Productions’ games are coming to MacOS.

During the MacOS section of Apple's latest WWDC event, the video game legend Hideo Kojima took to the digital stage to say “Hi, everyone, I’m super excited to be here to tell you about what we have been working on for the Mac. I have been a die-hard Apple fan since I bought my first Mac back in 1994. It has been a dream of mine to see my team’s best work come to life on the Mac. Now we are entering a new era for gaming on the Mac.”

Kojima continued, “So I’m very happy to announce that we’re bringing Death Stranding Director’s Cut to the Mac later this year! Death Stranding on the Mac takes full advantage of the latest Apple technologies to provide the best experience to our fans.”

Perhaps even more exciting is the fact that this partnership is not limited to just Death Stranding, with Kojima saying “This is just the beginning, and we are actively working to bring our future titles to Apple platforms.”

Apple’s M chips have proven to be rather impressive, and so it is exciting to see game developers starting to support the new hardware – helping to slowly destigmatise the idea of playing games on a Mac. Death Stranding will come to MacOS later this year.
