AirPods 3 come with a new design, spatial audio technology and more battery life

During an event last night, Apple introduced its new generation of earbuds, the AirPods 3. Designed to be more durable, offer more playtime and improve upon its predecessors, the new AirPods aim to offer better value than previous generations.

The AirPods 3 design was slightly tweaked, supposedly to offer a better fit. Besides featuring a shorter stem, the head of the casing is more contoured, and the whole earbud is lighter than its predecessor. In the back, each earbud has an acoustic mesh that helps to reduce the sound of wind, improving the call experience in outdoor areas.

Despite being new, the 3rd gen AirPods will share a lot with previous AirPods models. For starters, it comes with a custom driver, a high dynamic range amplifier and support for one-touch setup when pairing with Apple devices. Moreover, it supports the AAC-ELD speech codec and Dolby Atmos and features Adaptive EQ and spatial audio with dynamic head tracking.

Battery life was also improved on the new AirPods, offering about six hours of music playback and up to four hours of talk time with a single charge. A quick five-minute charge allows you to listen to music for an extra hour. The included charging case, which is MagSafe compatible, can accumulate four full charges, increasing the earbuds' battery life by an extra 24 hours.

Both the case and the earbuds have an IPX4 rating, meaning they're resistant to water and sweat. The AirPods 3 will be available starting October 26th for $179. Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.
