Possible launch date of Apple iWatch in September revealed

Although previously it was expected that Apple would introduce its iWatch smartwatch along with its next-generation iPad media tablets this October, it now looks like the firm decided to stick to the original plan and launch its first wearable device along with the new iPhone and the iOS 8 in September.

Recode reports that Apple intends to launch the iWatch device on the 9th of September, 2014, along with the iPhone 6 and the iOS 8. The plan seems to be rather logical since the wearable gadget is expected to rely on the iPhone as well as the next iOS. Therefore, to reveal all the capabilities of its next mobile platform, Apple needs to unveil all of its components, including the iWatch.

As reported, being not only a smart-watch and a companion device for Apple’s iPhone, but also a health and fitness tracker, the iWatch will rely on Apple’s HealthBook stack of applications. Besides, it is expected that the device will also take advantage of HomeKit apps designed for home automation.

Apple iwatch

Previously it was reported that Apple’s iWatch will come in different sizes and will feature curved AMOLED displays with sapphire cover glass, the same as used on quality watches from different companies. The design of the watch from Apple is unknown, yet it is expected that it will be slim and will compete against sophisticated watches from renowned producers.

Apple did not comment on the news-story.
