Retail leak shows Moto 360 with $250 price tag

Motorola's upcoming smart watch, the Moto 360, has leaked again, this time showing off a $250 price tag and some new specifications. Motorola is expected to officially launch the Android Wear smart watch on the fourth of September alongside the new Moto X smartphone.

We have US retailer, Best Buy, to thank for this leak as it posted a premature listing on its site(which has since been taken down). It looks like US citizens will get the watch for $250, if this is correct, then UK buyers should expect a price tag closer to £200, thanks to VAT in addition to the conversion rate. However, it's possible that we'll see it released at the £150 price tag that we heard about back in May.

$250 will make the Moto 360 a bit more expensive than both the Samsung Gear Live and the LG G Watch. However, from what we've seen so far, it's going to be a much more premium looking device.

The Best Buy listing also gave us a peak at some possible specs, including a 1.5-inch 320 x 290 backlit LCD display, covered by Gorilla Glass 3, rather than Sapphire. The watch will also be water resistant, you'll be able to submerge the watch in up to 3.3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes without seeing damage.

While retail leaks are usually fairly accurate, you should consider everything as speculative until an official announcement has been made.

KitGuru Says: I'm looking forward to what Motorola has to announce at its event next month. Are you guys looking forward to the release of the Moto 360? I'm hoping that we'll see it launch with Moto Maker customization options.
