BigFoot Killer Wireless N 1102 Review

UDP (User Datagram Protocol) is the network data protocol which is used by the majority of online games, and UDP prioritisation is one of the technologies used to accelerate this traffic.

UDP is the protocol used by many online games such as Crysis 2 and Call Of Duty: Black Ops. It is also used in many video chat applications.

We run a Test-UDP.bat file to test UDP throughput. The packet size is 1472 bytes. We ran the same test 15 times via both network adapters and took the average from the 15 runs. This helps to eliminate any possible abnormalities between a handful of runs.

Again, the UDP test highlights the strengths of the Bigfoot Killer Wireless N 1102 hardware as it outperforms the onboard solution by 35 Mbps.

  1. Excellent idea. I like their software, worth it for that alone.

  2. I read about the killer desktop model here last year and bought one and I can’t do without it now. One of the best buys ever. They have the hardware finely tuned for gamers.

  3. Shame you cant just add on into the machine. I upgrade my memory on my laptop. dont see how this would be any more difficult.

  4. Great product! I agree with Ian I wish that I could add this on to my laptop as my current wireless card is terrible. Plugging it into a network problem fixes all of my latency problems in World of Warcraft so it has to be my card. I would totally drop this in if it were available. My wireless card is a standard mini PCI port so I don’t see why I couldn’t.
