Twitch had a security breach- password changes required

Twitch has revealed that it recently had a security breach, during which user account information was accessed. As a result, the company has expired all passwords and stream keys, meaning that a password change is mandatory the next time you log in.

Additionally, accounts were disconnected from Twitter and YouTube for user protection. As is the case with all security breaches, it is recommended that if you used the same password across multiple sites, you change it on all of them.

Twitch has reacted speedily to this breach and hopefully with these measures and a mandatory password change, nobody will be affected. Writing on the official Twitch blog, the company wrote:

“We are writing to let you know that there may have been unauthorized access to some Twitch user account information. For your protection, we have expired passwords and stream keys and have disconnected accounts from Twitter and YouTube. As a result, you will be prompted to create a new password the next time you attempt to log into your Twitch account.”
