KitGuru Gaming – Weekly Round Up

For those tech readers who don’t always get time to check out our game related content at Kitguru gaming – here is a round up of content published in the last week.

“New Console by Award-Winning Industrial Designer – Hailed as the ‘Best Designer Outside of Apple'”

Yves Béhar – award-winning industrial designer, designer of the wireless Jambox console, founder of Fuseproject, and CCO at Jawbone – will be designing the console for Ouya, and Ouya’s CEO Julie Uhrman has high hopes for him stating, “He is the best designer outside of Apple.  He really understands how to build something that is beautiful with high performance that is really affordable and attainable for everybody.”

Uhrman’s initial idea for the console is something based on the Android with free-to-play games, something that gamers could spend less than $100 on up front.  Subsequently, she believes Ouya will be “the people’s console,” since development software will also be included on the console, encouraging indie developers to create their own games for Ouya.

“$1 Million Video Game Sale”

While many of you, I’m sure, have extensive game collections, I doubt many collections would fetch a price quite as impressive as this collector’s recent sale.

“Dungeon Twister Review (PS3)”

Dungeon Twister is a PSN/ XBLA title that was recently released, apparently based on a board game of the same name. Not that I knew this going in, considering the only trailer for it I had seen featured several fantasy characters singing and dancing in a hip hop video with a wizard pretending to be Michael Jackson. Ridiculous choice of advertising aside however, I really enjoyed this one.

“Bellator: MMA Onslaught Review (PSN)”

Bellator: MMA Onslaught is a combat fighter game that recently came onto the PSN and XBLA. It’s another effort by Spike games who seem determined to turn any of the combat based TV shows on Spike into commercials in the form of downloadable games. Frankly, I think their efforts up to now have been a waste of time.
