Xbox Games With Gold announced for September

Each month, those with an Xbox Live Gold account (or an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription) are able to get their hands on a number of games for ‘free’. For the month of September, subscribers will be able to get their hands on a number of classic titles including Portal 2.

Making the announcement on the Xbox blog, Dan Hickey, the Marketing Program Manager at Xbox revealed the games being given away throughout the month of September, namely:

As with previous months, the list of games on offer is rather tame, especially when compared to Sony’s base PS Plus subscription. Still, there is a nice variety of titles being offered. Gods Will Fall is a 3rd person / isometric action title which sees you “Grab your mace, test your spear, and sharpen your ax to battle horrific beasts and minions that dwell in hellish lands of each god. Your decisions can make you a legend or you can be dust.”

Double Kick Heroes is hybrid shoot em up rhythm game which requires players to “Travel the post-apocalyptic freeways battling zombies and militia in your tricked out Cadillac – the Gundillac.”

Thrillville is an OG Xbox title which allows you to build your own theme park, including being able to “design roller coasters to go-carts, play mini-golf on your own courses, and join friends for party games.”

Last but certainly not least, Portal 2 is a Valve classic, requiring you to solve all manner of portal-related puzzles, while remaining engrossed in the game’s humourous narrative, voiced by the likes of Stephen Merchant and J.K. Simmons.
