Unique 2D/3D platformer The Plucky Squire launches next month

Announced back in 2022, The Plucky Squire is a unique platformer which lets you switch between a 2D and 3D perspective depending on your current realm. Initially planned to release in 2023, the game was unfortunately delayed – though we now have an official release date – alongside some exciting PS Plus news.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, James Turner – the Co-Creative Director at studio ‘All Possible Futures’ –  said “Finally, the heroic tale of brave warrior Jot is ready to be told! We are thrilled to announce the release date of The Plucky Squire, which will be coming to PlayStation 5 on September 17. This means you’ll be venturing into the game’s colorful, adventure-filled storybook world – and beyond – in just a month.”

Taking inspiration from the likes of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, The Plucky Squire features twin realms which lets you switch between 2D and 3D perspectives for a unique puzzle platforming adventure.

Perhaps even more exciting is the fact that PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium members will be able to get their hands on the game day-one, “So, if you have a membership, you’ll be able to dive right into the game when it releases.”

More details on the game and its mechanics can be found HERE, but for those who have been eagerly waiting for an update on The Plucky Squire’s release date, this latest announcement is a welcome one indeed.
