Toys For Bob seemingly teases new Spyro game for 25th anniversary

Toys For Bob has made a name for itself over the years thanks to its excellent work on a number of classic mascot IPs including developing Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Though Toys For Bob were absorbed into the Call of Duty machine, it seems the studio may actually be working on a new Spyro game based on a new year’s teaser.

In a Tweet sharted to their official Twitter page, Toys For Bob released a picture featuring a collage of characters alongside the caption “Big moves and BIG MOOD for 2023 #LifeatTFB.”

Alongside photos of the studio’s developers and a PNG of Ghost from Call of Duty Modern Warfare, the picture seems to tease the return of Spyro the Dragon, with the character subtly flying in the top left corner of the picture.

What is perhaps even more exciting however is the fact that Spyro is accompanied by the icon ‘25th’ – clearly referring to the purple dragon’s 25th anniversary, which will occur in 2023 (on the 9th of September to be exact).

25 years is a major achievement for any franchise, and while a majority of those years were filled with substandard titles – or none at all – it is a time worth celebrating nonetheless. Hopefully this means that we can expect a new Spyro game announcement at some point this year. If there were any team capable of making a great new Spyro game it would be Toys For Bob, and so hopefully this is indeed in the works. We will have to wait and see.
