The Nominees for the 2022 Game Awards will be announced next week

One of the more exciting gaming events to happen during the latter half of the year is the annual Game Awards. Created and hosted by Geoff Keighley, the annual show has become known not only for its awards ceremony, but also its multitude of game announcements and ‘World Premieres’. Now, ahead of the event going live in December, we know exactly when nominations will be revealed.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Game Awards page said “The nominees for #TheGameAwards will be revealed on Monday at 9a PT / Noon ET / 5p GMT.”

Though not the only awards show for gaming, the TGA’s is one of the biggest, with last year’s event being watched by more than 85 million people. As always, the most exciting list of nominees will be the Game of the Year category.

Though no official announcements have been made regarding any categories yet, it is safe to assume that the likes of God of War Ragnarök and Elden Ring will be nominated for GOTY.

Of course, as we saw with last year’s winner (It Takes Two), anything is possible, and so it will be interesting to see what games are in fact nominated.
