The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is being delisted this weekend

The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience shadow-dropped on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S last month, giving console owners a peek into the potential of Unreal Engine 5. Less than a full month after launch however, the demo is getting delisted, meaning you have until this weekend to add the title to your library.

As reported by gaming-focused Twitter account Wario64, The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is set to be delisted from both the Xbox and PlayStation storefronts on Saturday the 9th of July – less than one month after its 12th of June debut during the Summer Game Fest Kick off showcase.

Unfortunately, the full demo was never released for PC, meaning that once it is delisted, there will be no third-party option to download it; so now is your final chance to add the game to your library. Fortunately, once added, you can delete and reinstall the game to your heart's content – at least for the foreseeable future.

For the uninitiated, The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is “a free, boundary-pushing cinematic and open-world interactive tech demo that combines the power of PlayStation 5 with UE5” and is self-described as “the future of interactive storytelling and entertainment”. While not the smoothest performing demo, it was undoubtedly impressive, and as such, its removal from storefronts is disappointing.
